“Our beneficiaries are our reason for being!!!”

(Gabriela Achihai, President-Board of Directors)

Community Support Foundation (FSC) is a non profit, apolitical, with no religious affiliation, nongovernmental organization with public utility status, registered in June 1997.“OUR BENEFFICIARIES ARE OUR REASON FOR BEING” it is for them that we bring all our efforts together, we network, we speak for, we run campaigns, and we aim to provide the highest quality of services. We intend to be present in the community for as long as our services will be necessary.
With a team of 130 professionals and more than 250 volunteers we help yearly over 5,000 people through accredited medical, social and educational services.
Our beneficiaries are our peers, part of the same community and we consider it our duty to become involved in helping them. The best example is provided by our volunteers, who dedicate a major part of their free time to our activities: taking care of the elderly, or helping the poor children. If more people would follow their example, social problems would be solved a lot easier.

Our mission

OUR MISSION:
– supporting the disadvantaged groups of our community, through health, social and educational programs
– supporting the development of the local communities
– encouraging partnerships between the nongovernmental sector, public administration, locally and regionally and the private sector

  • Area of work: social, medical, educational;Beneficiaries: sick, old, terminally ill, people with disabilities, poor families, poor communities, children and youth

Vision and values

OUR VISION IS a world where human rights are respected and all community members have access to high quality services, adequate to their needs and provided by professionals in their own community.

The past

In 1991 Relief Fund for Romania (RFFR), UK came to Bacau to give direct support to families affected by the Siret river floods

Shortly afterwards they started two innovative projects: Mobile Health Care (addressed to the isolated, poor rural communities in Podu Turcului and Racaciuni areas) and Play Therapy (to help the institutionalized children and adults with disabilities)

In June 1997 Fundatia de Sprijin Comunitar (FSC) was registered and took over the management of these projects. RFFR remained a major partner and funder. FSC has a Romanian Board of Directors and management.
