Home care for the elderly

FSC was the first non-governmental organization in Bacau County to develop a comprehensive home care and assistance program for the elderly, more than 20 years ago. The model created by FSC was later taken over and replicated by other organizations in the country and in Bacau. FSC has been instrumental through the network in setting up training and work legislation as well as various funding mechanisms.

Target area: Bacau city and several rural communities in the east of the county

General objective: ensuring the access of the elderly to medical and social care services at home

Services offered

SOCIAL ASSISTANCE

We offer specialized services depending on the specific needs of this category of beneficiaries

Individual evaluation at the home of the elderly person and identifying their needs
Informing the beneficiary on the rights they benefit from according to the legislation in force
Counselling and advocacy
Direct aids consisting of food, equipment, hygienic-sanitary materials

HOME CARE

The services provided to the elderly beneficiary, at his domicile, are established by the multidisciplinary evaluation team, after carrying out a socio-medical evaluation. The care plan is drawn up together with the beneficiary, or his / her family / owner and may include:

personal hygiene
food preparation and administration
care for incontinent people
shopping
housekeeping help
conversation and social contact etc.

The home care service is offered free of charge, with support from local authorities and our donors and sponsors and in the communes: Gaiceana, Rachitoasa, Stanisesti, Motoseni

NURSING AND PALLIATIVE CARE

Provided by qualified and experienced staff. All services offered are in accordance with the prescriptions of the attending physician. The service is licensed by the Ministry of Health and contracted by the Health Insurance House.

Examples of assistance:

care of wounds and bedsores
injectable treatments
supervision of vital functions
sampling for analysis
health education for the patient and his family / relatives etc
counselling and support for the patient and family
